Initial Ideas

Initial ideas for a band name

Branney boyz
The Branney band
Branney's wannabes

We have decided to call the group 'The Cuts'

Initial ideas for a music video

we could film it in Holy Trinity Church's graveyard
show a smashed mirror
show someone slowly walking away in to the distance
someone strumming an acoustic guitar
someone running away
the camera is focusing on one person while everything around them is moving really quickly
have the video in black and whit to give it and old fashioned feel to it

Script idea

At the beginning of the video there will be no music. A girl will be shouted and having an arguement with her parents and slams the door, storming into her room. She goes off into the corner of her room crying and then the music fades in.

When the music start of the song she will have flashbacks of her parents abusing her and all the bad times they have had together. She will also have flashbacks of her being bullied at school.

When the guitar solo starts she will have flash backs of being with friends and then leaving them behind.

When the song goes back to normal she is pictured crying and writing a note.

When the song ends she jumps out of her bedroom window.

This is rather depressing

Treatment

Treatment                                            Tom Henwood
TITLE:
The title of the video is called Knocking on Heaven’s door by ‘The cut’

FORMAT:
The format we will shoot the video on is a Sony a1 camera

SYNOPSIS:
My idea for the music video is a teenage goth girl curled up in a ball in the corner of a room, being bullied and dealing with being beating up by her Parents.  There will be no singing and just a story.

AUDIENCE:
The audience for the music video will be Teenagers

FEASIBILITY:
This video Idea is very plausible and it wont cost much or be very hard to put together

RATIONALE:
I think that this is a good idea because it can relate to some people who are going through a hard time and send out the depressing message of the song.

DEADLINE:

Music Production Techniques

Here is a link to a website that provides tips for how to record a song.
http://www.silver-dragon-records.com/recording_tips_and_tricks.htm

When recording a song. Firstly, once you have gathered your equipment, make sure that before you go straight in to recording the song you should make sure that you have blocked out any background noise that could ruin your song. Next, you should set up your mics in to the correct positions and sound check your instruments and make sure that they are working properly and then you should be ready to record your track.

Skills Development

The skills I already know in music and video production are:

I have had experience in a recording studio from the induction day at college.
I can play some songs for the piano but I'm certainly no maverick  On guitar I can play the Jaws theme tune and 'smoke on the water' as those are also very basic tunes.
In video production, I don't have much experience but we have used the sony a1 camera's but that is about it really when it comes to video production
